Revd Julie Bryan
Newly Accredited Minister

Julie studied Human Biology at University, before becoming a teacher and working in both primary and secondary schools.

After serving the church and community in various leadership roles, Julie developed an interest in pioneering ministry and sensed the call to train at Northern Baptist College. She completed her formation and was ordained in September 2022.

Sadly, our minister, Stephen Keyworth, had to take early retirement on health grounds at the end of December. In early February, we gathered with some of Stephen’s family to celebrate and give thanks for his ministry here in West Craven and across the Baptist movement.
Following a career in aerospace, Stephen was called to ministry in 1992 and has ministered in Huddersfield, South Shields and Leicester. He has worked with the Northern Baptist Learning Community as a Regional Tutor and as Team Leader, Faith and Society for the Baptist Union of Great Britain. The gathering included video messages from some of those he has worked with across the years.
A serious illness meant Stephen’s arrival to West Craven Baptist Church was delayed until August 2020; since then he has ministered alongside Julie Bryan, our pioneer minister.
As a church community, we have been blessed by Stephen’s gifts in preaching and teaching, his care and compassion, and his wise leadership and encouragement. We will miss Stephen and his wife Liz, but we wish them a peaceful and healthy retirement.
