Revd Stephen Keyworth
Ministry Team Leader

Stephen was welcomed to West Craven Baptist Church in August 2020 in a small, socially distanced service. We hope to be able to invite others to share in a more public induction as soon as possible.

Following a career in aerospace, Stephen was called to ministry in 1992 and has ministered in Huddersfield, South Shields and Leicester. He has worked with the Northern Baptist Learning Community as a Regional Tutor and he comes to West Craven after seven years as Team Leader, Faith and Society for the Baptist Union of Great Britain. Stephen's arrival in West Craven was delayed by serious illness, so it is a great joy that Stephen and his wife Liz, not to mention their two collies, are now settled into their new home in West Craven.

Julie Bryan
Minister in Training

Julie studied Human Biology at University, before becoming a teacher and working in both primary and secondary schools. After serving the church and community in various leadership roles, Julie developed an interest in pioneering ministry and sensed the call to train at Northern Baptist College, which involves studying an MA in Contextual Theology at Luther King House in Manchester.

EXCITING NEWS!

We are delighted to announce that at a Special Church Meeting on 13 March 2022 we called Julie to join our ministry team as a part time minister on completion of her initial formation as a Baptist Minister with Northern Baptist College.

This is a significant step for Julie because in order to progress to ordination as a Baptist Minister accredited by the Baptist Union of Great Britain, she requires her ministry to be recognised by the local church.

Julie will take up this appointment in September and will serve together with Stephen. She will have a particular focus on developing pioneering initiatives with our church and we are grateful for the exciting possibilities for the future of WCBC!
